She’s been cooking for 60 years and gardening for about that long as well. A black and white photo of her at 6 shows the budding chef stirring chocolate cake batter, a scarf tied over her shoulder-blade length braids and cocoa powder sprinkled on her very serious chin.
Her husband, a retired dairy farmer, raises beautiful vegetables on their homestead in the North Carolina Piedmont and they love discovering easy, tasty, healthy new ways to fix and enjoy them.
